Opening credits are used as a film opening to show off the main members of the movie production team such as the actors and the director. The opening credits can begin a movie by playing over the scene or being hidden in messages or props throughout the scene for the audience to see and find. The opening credits can play out in a manner that can set the tone for the movie depending on the placement or the score.
The title sequence is a method by which films present their title and important members. They are also able to set a tone for the rest of the film. the title usually plays after the film opening which signals the beginning of a film.

the type of movie that we are trying to make is a horror movie
some of the basic conventions are dark areas, mysterious and suspenseful score, or mysterious shadows
many horror movies use conventions such as a dark and mysterious location or a character that has no spatial awareness of what is happening around them. Many of these locations can include dark and abandoned houses or run-down facilities.
the main target of my genre is adults or teens. they like to get an adrenaline rush from the murder scenes to the suspenseful music or waiting for a jumpscare. many of these aspects are what the horror genre is mainly for, the people who are seeking excitement. horror movies usually have many characters around the same age as the intended audience around 18-25 years old which is used to make the films more appealing to the group.

many of the titles in horror movies have a large font and sometimes fade in the words with some blood on the letters on some occasions.

in many horror movies, one of the characters is female and they are represented as loud and not very smart when it comes to deciding what they do in the movie. when the setting is at a school or a city, there are many character stereotypes like the stubborn jock or the weak and helpless girlfriend. in other types of horror movies such as escape room, some supporting character is considered as a nerd or a smart person with round glasses and a shy personality.

some other similar films are the movie franchise is SAW. The audience is mainly based around teens and adults who are finding thrills in horror movies. the average budget of all the movies was around one and ten million dollars.

The film that I chose for the case study is Friday the 13th. this film was made and produced 40 years ago. the main target audience of this film during the time was teens who were looking for enjoyment in life and suspense from the films of that age.

My final project will be a film opening titled “come and play”. This story will follow a boy who is being haunted by the spirit of his little sister who he murdered, and now the spirit plays games to drive the boy insane. This project will fall under component 1 foundation portfolio, it will comply with the standards of assessment objectives two and three. The method of research that I will do is by studying the different forms that horror movies use to create a mysterious feeling during the opening scenes of the film.

the history behind the film Alien (1979), began during the fourteen-week production period before the film's release to the public. the main target audience for this film were people who were seeking excitement and different variation between the films at the time of release.

the film took fourteen weeks to be fully developed and filmed. The location that the film took place was in a film studio near London at Shepperton Studios. Many of the models were rushed and not sized correctly due to time restraints from fox studios to release the film on time. Ridley Scott had the idea to create a fourth act where the character had to confront the alien. He asked the producers for a bigger budget. Ridley Scott wanted to end the film with the characters' death, however, the producers overturned this decision.

the distribution of this film was very limited at first only being shown to the representatives at the fox and then being made into a trailer for two screenplays and eventually being a widespread image due to the famous words, " in space, no one can hear you scream" which added popularity and recognition to the film.
2/2/21 I will be shooting my film opening at my house. The people who will be acting will be me and my sister. I will be portraying the boy and my sister will be portraying the ghost of the girl.
2/3/21 my film will have a dark and mysterious feeling as both characters will not be able to be seen. The look of my film will be mainly in the night or a dark house and with many shots of dark silhouettes under lights or in a dark room with little to no light.
2/4/21 my film will have close to no sound to show the silence of the restless soul of the girl. I will be achieving this noise by using a recording of the nighttime noises or the silence of a house during the night. my shooting schedule will be when my sister gets home from work and being able to film and shoot the opening without any interruptions.

the type of technology I used to produce my opening is a phone camera and my laptop.
One thing I learned is that lighting can have a major effect while shooting a shot. it allows the camera to focus on the subject and to be able to see everything more clearly

the few difficulties on the way during the production are getting proper camera lighting, and my helpers being home at the time that I need to shoot.
Because my family works, it is a bit difficult to find the optimum time to shoot the film opening. I have made a plan to begin filming when the people helping me have come from work.
Post-production editing

I used the editing process to create a more sensible and connected opening to allow the viewer to understand what the purpose of the opening is.
I used a few different technologies such as the camera I recorded the clips on and the laptop I used to edit and finalize the editing of the sequence.
I learned many things about the editing technology and software that I used. some of these things were how to transition between shots and how to put text on the screen to play a title sequence.
